PDF Splitter

Need pages 15 to 23 of a 200-page report? Want to drop a few pages from a contract before sending it, or turn one long scan into separate files? EaseBowl's PDF Splitter does it in your browser. Extract the pages you want into a new PDF, remove the pages you don't, or split the whole document into one file per page, per fixed number of pages, or per range you define. Your PDF never leaves your device. No signup and no watermark.

Operational Workflow

Follow these standard protocols to process your files safely.

1

Drag and drop your PDF onto the upload area, or click to choose it. The tool shows the number of pages.

2

Choose what you want to do: Extract pages, Remove pages, or Split into files.

3

For extract or remove, type the pages (for example 1-3, 5, 8-) or click them in the grid. For splitting, choose every page, every N pages, or custom ranges.

4

Check the message under the field. It confirms how many pages or files you will get, or explains what to fix.

5

Click the button to download. One result is saved as a PDF. Several files are saved together as a ZIP archive.

Technical Deep-Dive

A PDF is convenient to share but awkward to cut up. You may need only pages 15 to 23 of a 200-page report, want to drop a few pages from a contract before sending it, or need to turn one long scan into separate files. Printing selected pages to a new PDF is slow and can change the layout, and many online tools require you to upload the document to their servers. EaseBowl's PDF Splitter does the job in your browser, so the file stays on your device. Three ways to work. Extract pages keeps only the pages you choose and saves them as one new PDF. Remove pages does the opposite: it deletes the pages you list and keeps the rest. Split into files creates several PDFs at once, either one per page, one per fixed number of pages (for example every 5 pages), or one per range you define (such as 1-3, 4-10, 11-). When more than one file is created, they are bundled into a single ZIP download. Choosing pages. Type pages into the field using commas and dashes. 3 is a single page, 5-8 is a range, 8- means page 8 to the end, and -5 means the first five pages. You can also click page numbers in the grid to select or deselect them. In extract mode, pages are saved in the order you type them, so 10, 2, 7 produces a PDF that starts with page 10, then page 2, then page 7. A page listed twice is included once. If you type a page that does not exist or a range that runs backwards, the tool explains the problem and nothing is downloaded until it is fixed. The grid shows page numbers, not thumbnails, so open the PDF in a reader first if you need to see what is on each page. What is kept. Pages are copied from the original into new files rather than redrawn or converted to images, so text stays selectable and searchable, fonts and images are unchanged, and scanned pages keep their original quality. Each page keeps its own size and orientation, and your original file is never modified. What may not carry over. Bookmarks and document properties such as title and author are not copied, interactive form fields may stop being fillable, and links between pages inside the original document may not work in a split file. If a PDF uses one large font or image on every page, each split file includes its own copy, so the split files can add up to more than the size of the original. Password-protected PDFs. Encrypted PDFs cannot be processed. If you upload one, the tool tells you so. Remove the password in a PDF reader first and upload the unprotected copy. Privacy. The PDF is read into your browser's memory and processed on your device. It is not uploaded to EaseBowl's servers, which matters for contracts, medical records, financial statements, and other confidential documents. EaseBowl records basic usage statistics, such as how often a tool is used, but not your files or their contents. Limits. EaseBowl does not set a limit on file size or page count. The practical limit is your device's memory. Splitting a large document into hundreds of files takes longer, and a progress bar shows how far along it is. If the process fails on a very large file, work on smaller groups of pages. Common uses. People extract a chapter from a textbook, pull the signature page out of a signed contract, remove blank or unwanted pages before sending a document, separate a scanned batch of invoices into one file per page, or split lecture slides into weekly handouts.

Key Features

  • Three modes: extract selected pages, remove selected pages, or split into separate files.
  • Split into one file per page, one file per fixed number of pages, or one file per custom range.
  • Flexible page input with single pages, ranges, open-ended ranges (8- and -5), and combinations such as 1-3, 5, 8-10.
  • Clickable page grid to select or deselect pages without typing.
  • Extracted pages follow the order you type, so you can reorder pages while extracting (10, 2, 7).
  • Live validation: clear messages for pages that do not exist, backwards ranges, and invalid input, before anything is downloaded.
  • Multiple files are delivered as a single ZIP, and one file is downloaded directly as a PDF.
  • Pages are copied without re-compression, so text, fonts, images, and scanned pages keep their quality.
  • Progress bar for large splits.
  • Browser-based processing: your PDF is not uploaded to a server.
  • Clear message for password-protected or damaged PDFs.
  • No watermark, no account, and no installation required.

Use Cases

  • 1
Extract a single chapter or section from a large textbook, manual, or research publication for focused reading or sharing with a study group.

  • 5
Break a long scanned archive into smaller files, for example one per year or every 50 pages.
  • 6
Prepare application materials by extracting only the relevant pages from a larger portfolio PDF.
  • 7
Split a slide deck exported as PDF into single pages or short sections to use as handouts.
  • 8
Remove whole pages that contain confidential details, such as salary tables, from a report before sharing the rest more widely.
